The data
What is Appulse Index?
A live index of iOS apps moving through the App Store charts. It shows which apps are climbing, falling, entering the charts and gaining momentum, by country, category and chart, so you can spot fast-moving apps early.
About Appulse IndexWhere do the rankings come from?
From Apple's public App Store top 100 charts: Top Free, Top Paid and Top Grossing, overall and for each category, in every tracked country. App details such as the icon, developer, price and ratings come from Apple's public lookup service.
How often is the data updated?
The charts are checked about every 6 hours, and a chart is only stored again when Apple has updated it. App details and ratings are refreshed once a day. Every page shows when its data was last updated.
Which countries and categories are covered?
10 countries and 25 categories, plus the overall charts. Only the iOS App Store is covered.
See every countryHow long is ranking history kept?
Every snapshot is kept for 14 days. After that, one snapshot per chart per day is kept, so long-term history stays available.
Do you show downloads or revenue?
No. Apple doesn't publish download or revenue numbers, so Appulse Index doesn't show them. Anything that is an estimate, such as the activity level of a category, is labeled as an estimate.
Reading the numbers
What does a rank change mean?
It compares an app's rank now with its rank in the same chart and country at the start of the period you picked (24 hours, 7 days or 30 days). +12 means the app climbed 12 places; a minus means it dropped. Ranks are never combined across countries.
Top gainersWhat does “New” mean next to an app?
The app entered that chart in the last day, so there is no earlier rank to compare with.
How is the momentum score worked out?
The score (0 to 100) comes only from chart positions: how far an app climbed over 1, 3, 7 and 30 days, how fast, in how many countries, and how high it ranks. 75 and up is strong momentum, 50 and up is rising, 25 and up is warming up. It describes movement, not its cause.
Rising appsWhat counts as a new release?
An app whose first version came out recently (in the last 30 days by default; 1, 7 or 90 days can be picked) and that is in at least one tracked chart now. The release date is the one Apple lists.
New releasesWhat does “Tracked since” mean?
When Appulse Index first saw the app in a tracked chart. It isn't the app's release date.
Why can't I find an app?
Only apps that have appeared in a tracked top 100 chart are in the index. An app that has never charted in a tracked country won't show up in search.

Is Appulse Index free?
Yes. Every chart and app page is open to everyone. Without an account, lists show the first 10 apps and rank history covers 24 hours and 7 days.
What does a free account add?
Full lists (50 apps per page), sorting, rank range and minimum-move filters, rank history over 30 days, 90 days and all time, and a watchlist of up to 200 apps.
Create a free accountIs Appulse Index affiliated with Apple?
No. Appulse Index is independent and isn't endorsed by Apple. App Store is a trademark of Apple Inc. App names, icons and screenshots belong to their developers and are loaded from Apple's servers.
