The best cyclists in the world took our hometown by storm (and liberated some of its busiest roads from cars, wahoo!) as they duked it out at the Road World Championships in Montreal this week. Dodging our city’s infamous potholes, traffic pylons, and cowbell-clad maniacs on electric BIXIs, the winners sped to the finish — and hey, so does this new faster version of Transit, thanks to a few alacritous improvements from your favourite road crew. As UCI officials doled out medals and rainbow jerseys to perspiring pedalers, we doled out some hardware of our own: a free Royale subscription to everyone who rides Intercity Transit in Olympia, Washington, our 200th agency sponsor! Make sure to send your own agency a little wink-wink-nudge-nudge if you’d like us to bring the Royale treatment to a city near you. Rate us 5 stars and we’ll put some poutine gravy in your bidons the next time you climb Mount Royal.
