What's new
Version 3.0 · 17 Oct 2026 · 2 days ago
Private Ear has been rebuilt for modern iPhone and iPad devices. • Set your sound threshold against live microphone levels using the slider or draggable threshold line. • Capture quieter sounds with thresholds down to -80 dBFS. • Choose how long clips stay open during quiet pauses. • Browse clips grouped by recording session and play each session in order. • See live playback levels and a miniature dBFS display in each playing clip. • Rename, share WAV audio, and delete clips in the recording library. • Enjoy a dark electronic-recorder design with support for larger text sizes. • Import readable recordings from the original app automatically. Upgrade note: the old in-app password lock is no longer used. Use your device passcode and iOS app locking to protect access. WAV sharing replaces the old desktop transfer client.
