Regular petrol in India is now E20, a 20% ethanol blend. Engines made before 2023 weren't designed for it: ethanol attacks fuel lines, seals and tanks. The petrols that skip the ethanol are India's 100-octane premium grades - IndianOil's XP100, HPCL's poWer100 and BPCL's Speed 100 - sold between them at only around 230 pumps in the entire country.
